WEST POINT, New York – The Marist women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend of play at the Army West Point Invite, completing the team's second fall tournament. The Red Foxes picked up multiple singles and doubles wins in another impressive showing.
- In A singles, Julia Gabay defeated Binghmaton';s Michelle Eisenber, 8-6 before falling to Syracuse's Guzal Yusupova, 6-3, 6-0.
- In B singles Madison Price dropped her match to Syracuse's Dina Hegab, 8-3 and fell in the B singles consolation, 8-5 to Sacred Heart's Podsiebierski.
- In C singles, Sophia Moeller fell to Army West Point's Samantha DiMaio, 8-4 while Chloe Lant fell to Colgate's Renee Ren, 8-3. Lant would go on to win her C singles consolation match over St. Bonaventure's Reisinger, 8-4.
- Jada Tijani fell in D singles to Army West Point's Mary Jo Pidgeon, 8-3. Tijani picked up a win in the D singles consolation match over Colgate's Bartimer, 8-4.
- Also in D singles, Sam Galu picked up two wins on the weekend, defeating Binghamton's Ashley Granieri, 9-7, and Lehigh's Leigh Friedman, 3-6, 6-2, 11-9.
- In E singles, Sophia Chavarria defeated Fairfield's Gabriella Campos 6-2, 6-1.
- In A doubles, Gabay and Galu dropped their match to Army's Joyner and Allen, 6-4.
- In B doubles, Lant and Chavarria fell to Fordham's Weisberg and Li, 7-5.
- Also in B doubles Moeller and Tijani fell to Army's Pidgeon and DiMaio, 7-5.
The Red Foxes will host the Marist Invitational on Sunday, October 7
th at the tennis pavilion before heading to the ITA Northeast Regional the following weekend.
