POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Swimming and Diving team returns to action Saturday afternoon, as the Red Foxes travel to Boston, for an afternoon matchup against Boston College. The dual meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Swimming and Diving hosted Binghamton on Thursday, January 10. The men's team defeated the Bearcats 199-101. The team won all but two events on the day. Marist dominated the distance events, as
John Hurley placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle andÂ
Brendan Rice won the 500-yard freestyle.Â
Michael O'Donovan came in second in both events.

The women's team was defeated 151-149 by Binghamton in very hard-fought match. Although the team lost, the divers had a very dominant day. SophomoreÂ
Esabelle Gervasio placed first in both the 1- and 3-meter. Her score of 289.5 on the 1-meter breaks the school record, a record she had previously broke this past October. SophomoreÂ
Grace Reeves placed second in both events while SeniorÂ
Grace Casolo picked up a third place finish on the 3-meter.

The Boston College swimming and Diving team recently closed out 2018 with a match against the UConn Huskies. Highlighting the meet for the Eagles was a first-place finish from Colin O'Leary in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:52.26. In the meet, the men's team earned 114.5 points, while the women raked in 119 points. The men's team currently ranks 11
th in the ACC with 694.30 total points, while the women are ranked 12
th out of 12 teams in the ACC with 687.45 total points.

The Eagles have a meet against Dartmouth on Friday, January 11 at 5 p.m. and then have a quick turnaround Saturday afternoon when they host the Red Foxes.Â

Swimming and Diving will return home next weekend, and will host Southern Connecticut State University at the McCann Natatorium. Meet time is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 19.
