SMITHFIELD, Rhode Island – Marist men's swimming and diving capped off the regular season with a win over Bryant at the Chace Athletic Center. The men improve to 9-3 on the season and 5-1 against MAAC opponents.
 

HIGHLIGHTS

• Senior Daniel Knoll earned wins in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle with times of 21.18 and 46.58 seconds.
• Sophomore John Hurley finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle and second in the 500-yard freestyle. His time of 9:51.32 in the 1000 was over ten seconds faster than the second place finisher. Junior Michael O'Donovan finished third in that event.
• Sophomore Murray Coueslant and Senior Miguel Madeira went 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle with Coueslant's time of 1:44.23 only .29 seconds off his season best.
• The Red Foxes also went 1-2 in the 200-yard breaststroke with sophomore Jackson Klarsfeld and senior Edward Oser taking the top spots.
• Junior Raislan Aiken won both the 1- and 3-meter with scores of 269.62 and 274.88. David Gallino finished third in both events
• The men capped off the day with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:07.25. The team was made up of Knoll, senior Gregory Violette, Coueslant and Maderia.

 

UP NEXT

The Red Foxes will spend the next two weeks preparing for the MAAC Championships. The championships will take place February 13-16 at the Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY.
