Women's Tennis Faces St. Johns, UPenn

The Red Foxes Play Two Road Matches Before Returning Home

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist women's tennis will stay on the road this weekend to take on St. John's on Friday, February 1 and UPenn on Sunday, February 3.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Marist fell to Harvard 5-2 last Sunday. Chloe Lant and Sophia Chavarria had strong individual performances, winning matches from the fourth and sixth singles spot respectively.
 
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
The Johnnies are 1-1 on the season. St. John's defeated MAAC foe Fairfield 5-2 and dropped a close match to UMass 4-3. The Johnnies went an impressive 17-5 last season and won the Big East Tournament for the first time in program history. After they won the conference championship, the Johnnies earned a berth into the NCAA tournament.
 
SCOUTING UPENN
UPenn is 2-0 so far with wins over Delaware and Drexel. Last season the Quakers finished 9-13 overall and 2-5 in Ivy League play.
 
UP NEXT
Marist will host its first home match of the season on Saturday February 10. The match will take place at Cross Court in Wappingers Falls at 4:00 PM.
