- On Sunday, August 13 the Red Foxes swept the Niagara Purple Eagles, in what was one of the most dominant performances of the season for Marist.
- Megan Fergus had a double-double in the match with 12 digs and a match-high 15 digs.
- Sarah Austin was one kill away from also smacking a double-double. She had 12 digs and nine kills.
- With her seventh kill of the match, Fergus jumped up two spots on the all-time kills list, taking over sole possession of sixth place. She passed Courtney Shaw and former teammate Kelsey Ediger along the way.
Â
- Fergus is now just two kills away from taking over sole possession of fifth place on the all-time kills list. Who would she pass? That's right if you remember it is teammate Nikki DeSerpa. Just two kills separate the pair, and they will be jostling back-and-forth the rest of the season. The next person on the list for the pair to pass is Sally Hanson who has exactly 102 more kills than DeSerpa.
- Stephanie Stone is currently tied for ninth place on the all-time blocks list with Shaw at 251 total blocks. One more moves her into sole possession of ninth place, and she will then be trailing Fergus for eighth place.

Â
- The Gaels come into Saturday's match with a 2-16 overall mark on the season. Their only two wins have both come in MAAC play, as they have defeated both Manhattan and Saint Peter's.

- Jamie Smith has had an outstanding season for Iona, and last match she put up a near triple-double. She totaled eight kills, 11 digs, and 12 assists. She also leads the Gaels with 165 kills on the year.
- Jessica Paolucci has been excellent on defense so far this season, leading the team with 228 total digs. She is also second on the team with 21 service aces.
- Karla Johnson is second on the team with 132 kills, and has the highest hitting percentage on the squad with a mark of .292. She also has a team-high 58 total blocks.
Â
