Marist Falls To Nationally-Ranked Dartmouth

Red Foxes Force Three Turnovers, Score On Final Drive

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team fell to #21 Dartmouth by a score of 49-7 at Tenney Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
 
Summary
  • Dartmouth scored touchdowns on its first four drives, and five of its first six. The Big Green jumped out to a 35-0 halftime advantage.
  • Connor Rempel's second receiving touchdown gave Dartmouth a 42-0 lead in the third quarter. The Big Green closed out their scoring on Dakari Falconer's 38-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter.
  • Marist scored with 2:53 remaining on a 16-yard touchdown pass from red-shirt freshman quarterback Matt Edwards to red-shirt sophomore tight end Sean Gaffney.

  • Dartmouth held a 432-190 advantage in total yards.
  • Red-shirt junior linebacker Grant Dixon had six tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble for Marist. Red-shirt freshman defensive end Aaron Acosta had two tackles for loss and a sack.
  • On Marist's touchdown drive, Edwards went 9-for-9 for 85 yards. It was the first appearance in his career.

  • This is the first time Marist has faced two Ivy League foes in a season, following Cornell's trip to Marist on Sept. 21.
  • Marist forced three turnovers in the contest after having forced four in its first five games.
