Women’s Soccer Hosts Rider In Pink Out Game

Marist To Wear Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Soccer continues its extended stay at Tenney Stadium when it welcomes Rider to the Queen City on Saturday, October 5 at 6 p.m.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW
  • The game will stream live from Tenney Stadium on the Red Fox Network, starting at the top of the hour.
  • Live stats will also be available courtesy of GoRedFoxes.com.
 
PINK OUT
  • This will be Marist's annual Pink Out Game, where the Red Foxes will raise support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
  • The team will wear pink warmups before the contest.
 
WHAT IS YOUR WHY
  • Seniors Bianca Furci and Francesca Guzzo have close ties to the cause, and have helped lead Marist's efforts for support.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Marist beat Quinnipiac 1-0 on Wednesday, October 2 to open its three-game homestand.
  • Junior Jillian Colucci registered her first goal of the season in the 60th minute, off a pass from Kristen Prevosto.
  • Sophomore Goalie Natalie Kelchner notched eight saves to lead the Red Foxes to victory.
 
SCOUTING RIDER
  • The Broncos are 5-2-3 on the 2019 season so far, 2-0-1 to begin play in the MAAC, and are on a two-game winning streak.
  • The last time they took the pitch, they overwhelmed Niagara 5-0 on Wednesday, October 2.
  • Rider has two players with four goals apiece, Sofia Soares and Makenzie Rodrigues, while Valeria Pascuet leads the way with four assists.
  • Goalkeeper Carmen Carbonell has started 10 games, making 55 saves while giving up 11 goals. That comes out to a goals-against average of 1.03 and a save percentage of .833.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Red Foxes finish off their homestand against Niagara on Wednesday, October 9 at 1:00pm
  • After that, Marist has a three-game road trip where they travel to every part of the Tri-State area. They play Siena, Fairfield, and Saint Peter's in that order.
