POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – On Wednesday, October 9, Marist College President Dennis Murray hosted a Championship Luncheon to celebrate both the men's lacrosse program and the women's rowing program winning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. Coaches, student-athletes, and administrators throughout the athletic department gathered at Christo's in Poughkeepsie, New York for the magnificent event.
The men's lacrosse team won its third MAAC Championship in program history in 2018, following a year in which they finished atop the conference with a 6-1 MAAC record. The championship was the second during Head Coach
Keegan Wilkinson's tenure, as he also coached the team to a championship in 2015. The only other championship in the history of the program came in 2005.
The women's rowing team's championship was the 11
th in program history, and first since all the way back in 2013. Marist had previously finished in second place in the MAAC in the last five championship regattas, earning at least 50 points in three of the last four. This year, they finally broke through, winning their first championship in six years.
