POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Basketball prepares to host the Elon Phoenix on Sunday, November 17 at 1 p.m. In their recent games, the Red Foxes recently defeated Albany 76-52, while the Phoenix come off a 67-66 overtime win against Appalachian State.

LAST TIME OUT

• Marist's triumph over Albany came in the home opener on Wednesday, November 13.
• The Red Foxes had 11 players score in the victory over the Danes. Redshirt senior Alana Gilmer and sophomore Sarah Barcello lead the team in scoring with 12 points apiece, closely followed by senior Rebekah Hand with 10 points.
• Rebekah Hand moved into third place on Marist's all-time scoring list and now has 1,490 points.
• In the game, the Red Foxes shot 52.5% from the floor and 43.5% from beyond the arc, making 10 of 23 attempts.

THE RED FOX OFFENSIVE

• Through the first two games of the season, Marist is shooting 51 percent on field goals, having eclipsed 50 percent in both games against Boston and Albany.
• The last time Marist shot at least 50 percent in back-to-back contests was in the 2018 MAAC Championships, where it beat Manhattan (60 percent) and Siena (50 percent).
• Marist has collected 19 assists in both games; 62 percent of their field goals (38/61) have come off assists.

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX

• Elon Comes to Poughkeepsie with a 2-0 record.
• The Phoenix beat Western Carolina 68-24 on Saturday, November 9 to open up their season.
• Elon needed overtime to dispatch Appalachian State, 67-66. Jaylin Powell paced the offense with 19 points, while Brie Perpignan chipped in 15.
• Through its first two games, the Phoenix has sustained a scoring defense of 45 points per game, also grabbing 39 rebounds per contest.

HISTORY VS. ELON

• Marist and Elon played one another for the first time last season; the Red Foxes won 61-57 in Elon, NC on November 30, 2018.
• Gilmer led the charge in that game, scoring 27 points. Rebekah Hand added 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
• Maura Fitzpatrick notched her 1,000th career point in the game.

APPROACHING MILESTONES

• Rebekah Hand is one basket away from 500 career field goals, four 3-pointers away from fifth all-time in three-pointers made, and only 10 points away from 1500 career points.
• Duffell needs 13 rebounds to reach 400 career boards.
• Vander Weide is only one point shy of 500 career points at Marist.
