WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – Marist baseball (0-3) was defeated 4-3 in the final game of the series at William & Mary (3-0). The Red Foxes scored three runs early to lead for more than half the game, but the Tribe surged late to take back the win on their home field.Â

- To start the game, Marist's first three hitters all reach base and Tyler Kapuscinski, Matt Rubayo and Gene Napolitano all drove in the runners for a 3-0 lead.
- William & Mary scored in the bottom of the first to answer back, and then again in the bottom of the second to make it 3-2.
- Starting pitcher Tony Romanelli was strong for the Red Foxes, and did not give up a hit in his appearance on the mound.
- The Tribe scored in the sixth to tie up the score.
- Marist was able to put players on base for scoring opportunities in the later innings, but could not come through with the go-ahead run.
- William & Mary proceeded earned a run in the eighth to take a 4-3 lead, which held through the end of the game.
- The Red Foxes outhit the Tribe 9-4.
- In his 5.0 innings pitched, Romanelli made three strikeouts and did not allow a hit.
- In four at-bats, Randy Taveras recorded a hit, a run and a stolen base.
- Taveras now sits in sole possession of tenth all-time in Marist history with 32 steals.
- In three games played, Robbie Armitage leads the team with five hits and a .417 batting average.
- Kapuscinski tallied a team-high three RBI and one home run in the opening season series.
