POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's tennis team returns to action this weekend, as the Red Foxes travel to face Lafayette on Friday, February 22. Then on Saturday, the team will remain in Pennsylvania to face the Bucknell Bison. The match on Friday is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., and the match on Saturday is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

On Saturday, February 16, the Red Foxes defeated Hofstra 5-2, picking up their third win of the season, and second win in the last three games.
Julia Gabay had a huge day for Marist, winning the first single spot, as well as playing and winning the first doubles match of the day. For her performance, Gabay was named MAAC Player of the Week.

The Leopards are 3-2 overall this season, but have dropped two of their last three matches. In addition, they are 2-2 in home matches this season. Most recently, they defeated St. Francis College Brooklyn 4-3, on Saturday, February 16. The doubles point wound up being the crucial point, as Lafayette swept all three spots in order to secure the victory.

The Bison are currently undefeated in the 2019 season, sitting at a perfect 5-0. The game will be held at a neutral site, in which Bucknell is 4-0 this season. Last time out, the Bison shutout La Salle, 7-0. The teams of Paige Leavy/Cayla Koch, Daniela Bellini/Sofia Ayuso, and Jill Auteri/Mishi Papich secured the doubles point, and then each of them individually went on to win their singles slot, helping secure the shutout.

The Red Foxes will stay on the road and take on Army West Point on Friday, March 1. The match is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
