BURLINGTON, Vermont – Trailing throughout the entire second half, Marist clawed its way back to force overtime and earn a 15-14 win against Vermont at Virtue Field. The Red Foxes were nearly perfect at the draw during the final 15 minutes of regulation, keeping possession and providing the offense opportunities to come back. Marist now sits at 1-2 on the season.

- Marist raced out to a 3-0 lead to start the game. During the run, Marist played great transitional defense, forcing several turnovers while Vermont attempted to clear.
- Vermont responded with a 6-0 run of its own to take a 6-3 lead with 10:54 to go in the half.
- A goal from Jessica Lasaponara cut the lead to 6-4 but Vermont closed out the half with two more goals.
- Both teams traded goals throughout the start of the second half. A 4-0 run by the Catamounts gave them their biggest lead of the game at 13-8 with 14:46 left.
- Marist mounted a spectacular comeback to tie up the game 14-14 with 3:15 left in the game. Going on a 6-1 run, Marist was perfect on the draw, with Hailey Wagner tallying six draw controls. Marist struggled with free position attempts early in the game but was able to convert four attempts to points during the run.
- Vermont had a shot to win the game in regulation, but a clutch free position save from Delaney Galvin squashed its chance.
- Wagner won the opening draw control in overtime and Samantha Mehalick scored from the free position to seal the win.
- George paced the offense with a career high five goals.
- Wagner had a season high 16 draw controls with 11 of them coming in the second half.
- Marist finished the game with 22 draw controls to Vermont's nine.
- Camille Renaud had a game high four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
- The defense held Vermont to 13-for-23 on clears.
