POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's basketball team (20-9, 12-5 MAAC) will host Niagara (12-17, 8-9) on Saturday, March 2nd. Seniors Maura Fitzpatrick, Lovisa Henningsdottir, and Allie Clement will be honored before the game, with tip set for 7 p.m.Â

- The Red Foxes defeated Monmouth 69-45 on the road on Thursday evening.
- Redshirt junior Alana Gilmer led the way with 21 points on 9-15 shooting from the floor.
- Senior Lovisa Henningsdottir followed with 12 points, all coming from three-point range.Â
- This was Marist's second victory over the Hawks this season, both times coming by a score of 69-45.
- Niagara is coming off of a 52-51 loss to Canisius on Wednesday night.
- Jai Moore scored 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 3-of-9 from three.
- Adila Gathers led the team in rebounds with 10, and tied with Moore for the team lead in assists with three.
- When Marist traveled up to Niagara on Jan. 3rd, the Red Foxes won 87-58 on the strength of a 32-point second quarter.
- Rebekah Hand led the way with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 from three, and she grabbed 10 boards to secure a double-double.
- Sophomore Willow Duffell contributed 13 points, and sophomore Allie Best added 12 off the bench. Best also led the team with seven assists.

Allie Clement is a two-time captain and five-year member of the program who has rebounded from two knee injuries. Valued as a team leader, Allie is a three-year member of the MAAC All-Academic team and was selected to the MAAC All-Rookie team in the 2014-15 season.    Â
Maura Fitzpatrick is a four-year starter who appeared in 109 career games and was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2017-18. During her junior season she led the team in steals with 38, and was responsible for stopping the opposing team's top offensive threat. On November 30, 2018, she became the 26th player in program history to score 1,000 career points in a 61-57 win at Elon.
In Lovisa Henningsdottir's four years on the team, she's played in 111 games and consistently been an inside-out offensive threat. One of the top shot-blockers in the conference, the Iceland-native makes a difference on both sides of the ball. In the last four games, she is averaging 3.75-made three-pointers at 55.6% shooting and 12.8 points per game.
The Red Foxes will head up to Albany for the MAAC Tournament. Marist clinched the #3 seed with the win over Monmouth, and will play their first tournament game on Saturday, March 9th, at noon. The opponent has yet to be determined.Â
