THIS SEASON
Marist dropped the regular season series to Rider, losing at home 68-58 on Jan. 30 and then falling 70-64 on Feb. 9 in Lawrenceville, NJ.

FIRST MEETING
  • Despite a superb offensive performance from Alana Gilmer, Marist was defeated 68-58 on Jan. 30.
  • The Broncs took an early lead with an aggressive first quarter, and then staved off a fourth quarter rally from the Red Foxes to come away with the victory.
  • Gilmer recorded 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting with seven rebounds, but Rebekah Hand was the only other Red Fox in double digits with 11 points.
  • Stella Johnson led the Broncs with 18 points, three assists, three rebounds and three steals, but also tallied eight turnovers.
  • Lea Favre added 18 points, and Amari Johnson and Lexi Posset contributed 15 each in a balanced attack.
SECOND MEETING
  • Marist fell 70-64 to the Broncs on Feb. 9 in a hard fought battle for second place in the MAAC standings.
  • Marist led by as many as six in the final five minutes, but Rider buckled down defensively and hit some clutch shots to prevent the home loss.
  • The Red Foxes shot 49.0 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three, compared to Rider's 43.5 percent and 33.3 percent.
  • However, because of the 15 Marist turnovers (compared to Rider's nine) and a 33-30 advantage in rebounding, the Broncs took 13 more field goal attempts and made up for their lower efficiency.
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
  • This will be only the third-ever meeting between the teams in the MAAC Championships.
  • Rider eliminated Marist in the 1998 opening round by a score of 75-56, which was the Red Foxes' first season in the MAAC.
  • The two squads did not play again until the 2014 Semifinals, when Marist beat Rider 70-59 en route to their tenth and most recent championship title.
MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
The winner of this game will move on to play the winner of #1 Quinnipiac vs. #4 Monmouth on Monday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
