ALBANY, New York - #3 Marist women's basketball (23-9, 13-5 MAAC) defeated #2 Rider to advance to the MAAC Championship finals for the 14th time. They will face #1 Quinnipiac (25-6, 18-0 MAAC) for the fourth time in six seasons.

The Red Foxes won 10 titles, taking nine straight from 2006 to 2014.Â
2004 - Red Foxes defeated Canisius 76-74 to win their first championship. Stephanie Del Preore was named MVP.
2006 - Marist won 68-57 over Loyola. Meg Dahlman was named MVP.
2007 - Improved program-record to 29 wins, topping Iona 64-57 in OT. Marist became the first school to win an NCAA tournament game since 1989, and reached the Sweet 16. Rachel Fitz named MVP.
2008 - Red Foxes won 32 games and beat Iona 83-63. Sarah Smrdel was named MVP.
2009 - Marist won 78-63 over Canisius and Julianne Viani was named MAAC Tournament MVP.Â
2010 - Marked Marst's fifth-straight championship with a 66-49 win over Fairfield, and Rachel Fitz was named Tournament MVP.Â
2011 - The Red Foxes won 31 games as Marist topped Loyola 63-45 in the finals. Erica Allenspach was named Tournament MVP.
2012 - Marist beat Fairfield 61-35 for their seventh straight championship, and Corielle Yarde was named MVP.Â
2013 - Marist defeated Iona 72-48 and Elizabeth Beynnon was named MVP.
2014 - Marist faced Quinnipiac in the finals for the first time and won 70-66 with Sydney Coffey named MVP. Emma O'Connor and Casey Dulin were named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Lovisa Henningsdottir averaged 17.5 points over the two games with 80.0 percent shooting from the field and 75.0 percent shooting from three.
- Alana Gilmer added 16.5 points per game on 52.0 percent from the field.
- Marist has the advantage in field-goal percentage 44.6 to 41.8 and three-point percentage 36.8 to 34.9, though Quinnipiac gave up only 11.0 turnovers per game compared to Marist's 17.5.
