Women's Lacrosse Falls to Jacksonville

The Red Foxes Could Not Keep Up With the Dolphins Offense

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Marist women's lacrosse fell to Jacksonville 20-10 Sunday afternoon at D. B. Milne Field. The Red Foxes kept within one in the first half, but were unable to contain the Dolphin's offense. Marist drops to 3-5 on the season.

SUMMARY
  • Jacksonville wasted no time and scored three goals in the first two minutes of gameplay. After that, Marist's defense started to settle and slow the Dolphin's offense down. Devon Connolly's goal sparked a 3-0 one to make it a one-point game with 21:21 left in the half.
  • Marist kept within striking distance of claiming a lead throughout most of the first half. Free position goals from Hailey Wagner and Samantha Mehalick brought the score back to a one point game. A woman up goal from Kelly George with 5:12 left in the half cut the Dolphin's lead to 10-8. But Jacksonville won four of the next five draw controls and quickly went to work on offense to take a 15-8 lead at the half.
