POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist overcame a slow start to open up conference play with a 10-9 win against Quinnipiac at Tenney Stadium. Quinnipiac rallied near the end, but Marist squashed any chances of sending the game into overtime. Marist now sits at 4-5 and 1-0 in conference play while Quinnipiac falls to 3-6 and 1-0 in MAAC play.

- Quinnipiac won the opening draw and scored to take the first lead. During the next 20 minutes, Marist was unable to find the back of the net to equalize. Quinnipiac's defense did a good job closing up shooting lanes and limited quality shots from Marist. The Bobcats got another score with 17:57 left in the half to go up 2-0.
- Marist finally scored when Hailey Wagner took the feed from Devon Connolly with 8:16 left in the game. Connolly won the ensuing draw control and Kelly George scored moments later to tie up the game. Jessica Lasaponara's goal gave Marist its first lead of the day at 3-2. George closed out the half with a goal to give the Red Foxes a 4-3 lead going into the locker room.
- Within the first minute of the second half, Quinnipiac equalized the score. Wagner would score three unanswered goals to give Marist its biggest lead of the day at 8-5. Goals from Samantha Mehalick and George increased Marist's lead to four with 6:22 left.
- The Bobcats did not back down and chipped away at the lead. Quinnipiac scored on a free position goal with seven seconds left to make it a 10-9 game. The Bobcats were unable to wrangle in the following draw and Marist came up with the win.
- Wagner led Marist with four goals and had a game high eight draw controls.
- Marist edged Quinnipiac in ground balls 23-18
- Annie Sheehy led the team with four ground balls
- The Red Foxes shared the ball well, tallying six assists on ten goals.
