QUEENS, New York - Marist baseball (6-12) fell to St. John's (8-9) on Tuesday afternoon at Jack Kaiser Stadium. Three Red Foxes tallied multiple hits, but it was not enough to top the Red Storm at their home stadium.
 

SUMMARY

• Robbie Armitage hit a triple into deep right field, and was then sent home by Gene Napolitano to start off the scoring for Marist in the second.
• In the bottom of the inning, St. John's walked in a run to tie the game.
• Erubiel Candelario retired three straight batters in the bottom of the third to cut the Red Storm's inning short.
• Anthony Lazar proceeded to hit a double and then Reece Armitage got the RBI-single to give Marist a 2-1 lead.
• The Red Storm scored four in the fourth to move ahead 5-2.
• Tyler Kapuscinski doubled in the sixth to drive in Reece Armitage.
• Conor McNamara forced the first three outs in the bottom of the inning to put Marist back at the plate.
• The Red Storm scored a pair of runs in the seventh to lead 7-3 and take the eventual win.

• In his first career start, freshman Erubiel Candelario pitched 3.2 innings and struck out two batters.
