The Jaspers Used a Second Half Push to Top Marist

RIVERDALE, New York – Marist dropped a tight MAAC game to Manhattan 12-10 at Gaelic Park. The Red Foxes led during the first half but Manhattan pulled away in the second. Marist drops to 4-6 and 1-1 in MAAC play.

SUMMARY

  • Manhattan battled back in the half, scoring three unanswered goals including one in the last 16 seconds of the half to equalize the game. Marist won the following draw control, but Mehalick's shot was blocked by the keeper and both teams remained tied.
  • The Jaspers took their first lead of the day early in the second half. For the next 13 minutes, neither team was able to score with both teams playing lockdown defense and having miscues on the offense.

  • Marist would not go down quietly, never letting the lead get past more than three points. Audrey Cerrone's goal cut the deficit down to two with 3:43 left.
