RICHMOND, Virginia - Marist baseball (9-12) won the third game of the series at Richmond (11-8-1) to complete the sweep.

- Robbie Armitage continued his excellence at the plate with a 2-RBI single in the first inning. Randy Taveras and Anthony Lazar scored.
- The Spiders scored four runs in the third to take the lead.
- Freshman Brian Hart smashedĀ a solo homer in the fourth to cut Richmond's advantage to 4-3.
- Frankie Gregoire hit an RBI-single to tie the game in the top of the fifth. Reece Armitage scored.
- Robbie Armitage then blastedĀ a two-run homer to score Gregoire and give Marist their first lead of the day at 6-4.
- Gregoire hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to extend Marist's lead to 9-5. Taveras and Lazar were driven home once again.
- The very next batter, Robbie Armitage, smackedĀ his second long ball of the day to push the Red Foxes into double-digit scoring.
- Freshman Erubiel Candelario earned the win in 3.1 innings of relief with four strikeouts.
- Conor McNamara recorded his second save of the season with four strikeouts and just one hit in 2.2 innings.
- Robbie ArmitageĀ homered for the third-straight game. After not going long his freshman season, he has four homers just from this series. The sophomore recorded five RBI onĀ three hits today.
- Frankie Gregoire had home runs in consecutive games as well, and now has four on the season. The all-time program leader is up to 28 for his career. Gregoire tallied four RBI on two hits.
- Brian Hart's long ball was the first of his career.
- The Red Foxes smashed eight homers in the three-game series with Richmond, and are up to 13 for the season.
- Robbie Armitage leads the team with a batting average of .367. He has an on-base percentage of .395 and a slugging percentage of 608. This past week, the sophomore had a slash line of .444/.444/1.222 in four games with nine RBI.
- Anthony Lazar had a strong week as well, with eight hits and four doubles.
Marist baseball returns to the northeast for a midweek matchup with UMass Lowell (4-16) on Wednesday, March 27 before opening MAAC play next weekend at Fairfield (7-12, 2-1 MAAC).
