POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The eighth-seeded Marist men's basketball team (12-18 overall, 7-11 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) begins play in the 2019 MAAC Basketball Championship on Thursday, when the Red Foxes face #9 Saint Peter's (9-21, 6-12) in the opening round. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.

- Senior guard Brian Parker was named Third Team All-MAAC on Monday.
- Parker led Marist in scoring at 14.7 points per game, and assists at 3.5 per game. Those averages ranked ninth and seventh in the MAAC, respectively.
- Parker was named MAAC Player of the Week on Nov. 12.
- This is the second straight Third Team All-MAAC selection for Parker, who was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in the 2015-16 season.
- The Red Foxes went 5-7 in non-conference play and 7-11 against MAAC competition.
- Marist won the Samson Bracket championship of the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic in November with victories over Dartmouth and LIU Brooklyn.
- Marist's four-game winning in February was its longest since the 2014-15 season.
- The Red Foxes enter the tournament with a season-high losing streak of four games.

- Brian Parker has career totals of 1,800 career points (fifth in program history), 601 rebounds (10th), and 382 assists (sixth).
- Parker has led Marist in scoring in each of the last five games.
- Ryan Funk is second in program history in career three-pointers made (261), eighth in free-throw percentage (.824), and 19th in points scored (1,177).
- Isaiah Lamb (120), Parker (119), and David Knudsen (118) rank 3-4-5, respectively, in program history in career games played.
