POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's tennis team heads into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships as the #3 seed in the conference. The Red Foxes will face off in the semifinals against #2 Fairfeild on Saturday, April 27.  The tournament is being held at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m.

Marist finished the season with an overall record of 7-14, but the Red Foxes finished 4-2 in MAAC play.

Sophia Moeller prevailed in the first and second doubles, respectively, quickly earning the doubles point for Marist. The Red Foxes went on to dominate singles play, as Gabay, Lant, and
Madison Price won in straight sets. Moeller won the third singles match in a third set tiebreaker.

Last season, Marist finished the year with a 10-9 overall record, and a 6-1 record In MAAC play. The team entered postseason play as the #2 seed, facing off against #3 Siena in the semifinals. The Red Foxes swept the Saints 5-0 in the first round, thanks to big matches from Galu and Gabay, and moved on to play #1 Quinnipiac in the finals. Marist was ultimately defeated 4-1 by the Bobcats in the Championship round.

The Stags closed out the regular season with a 12-7 overall record, which included a 5-1 record in the MAAC. They head into the postseason having won five of their last six matches, which includes a 5-2 victory over Siena in their regular season finale on Saturday, April 20. Earlier in the season, the Stags defeated the Red Foxes 4-3, as Fairfield was able to earn victories in four of the six singles matches. Amanda Nowak is 17-6 this season in singles play overall, and 6-0 in MAAC matches. Additionally, the team of Aina March and Nowak has been unstoppable in doubles, going 13-4 on the season.

The winner of this match will go on to play the winner of #1 Quinnipiac and #4 Siena on Sunday, April 28. That match will begin at 10 a.m.
