POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Behind its best offense performance of the season, Marist dispatched Canisius 19-14 at Tenney Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Kelly George led a balanced offense with a career high 11 points from five goals and six assists. Marist improves to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

- Canisius opened up the contest with a 2-0 lead within the first five minutes of play. The Marist offense found its stride and went on a 9-1 run. During the run, six different Red Foxes scored and Samantha Mehalick tallied an early hat trick.
- The Golden Griffins finally stopped the run with back to back goals to cut Marist's lead but George and Audrey Cerrone teamed up to score two more and take an 11-5 lead into the locker room.
- Canisius opened up the second half by winning the first three draw controls and scoring on all three possessions to cut Marist's lead and force a time out. Coming out of the timeout, Marist score three more goals to take a 14-8 lead. While Canisius was within reach of Marist throughout the second half, the Golden Griffins were not able to cut Marist's lead down to under three.
- Nine different players scored for Marist with both Mehalick and George leading the way with five goals.
- Marist passed the ball well leading to a season high 10 assists on the game. Devon Connolly had three.
- Delaney Galvin had 13 saves, making a few impressive ones at point blank.
- Hailey Wagner matched her season high 17 draw controls.
- Marist turned the ball over 13 times and only tallied four in the second half.
- Marist beats Canisius for the first time in seven tries. The overall series improves to 17-13 Marist.
- Goals by Logan Boyle and Tessa Scheid were the first in their careers.
- George's 11 points are the most in a game by any MAAC player this season. Her six assists were one shy of tying the single game record.
Marist will host Fairfield Saturday April 6 at 1 PM. Prior to the start of the game, Marist will honor its five seniors.
