FAIRFIELD, Connecticut – Marist men's tennis remained perfect in conference matches, taking down Faifield 6-1 Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Red Foxes improve to 9-8 and 3-0 in MAAC games.
After dropping the first doubles set, the doubles pairs of
Christopher Gladden and
John Oxner and
Lars Schouten and
Max Darrington stepped up to win at the second and third spot respectively to claim the doubles point.
Lars Schouten and
Kian Yazdi easily dispatched their opponents from the first and fifth singles spot to take a 3-0 advantage in the overall match. Both Red Foxes blanked their opponent in the second set to claim victory. The Stags would not go down easily, forcing three other matches into a tie breaker set.
Christopher Gladden came up clutch from the second spot to claim Marist's fourth point of the match. Both
Piotr Sowinski and
Jack Sequerth delivered strong performances from the third and sixth spots to win their matches in the tie breaker set.

Gary Sussman. "Winning the doubles point was huge, Lars and Chris set the tone at first and second singles, the two freshman came up big, and Piotr played his best match of the year at third singles."
