Marist Releases Men’s Basketball Non-Conference Schedule

Red Foxes To Play Four Games vs. Non-League Foes At McCann Arena

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Athletics Department released the non-conference schedule for the men's basketball team on Thursday.
 
Highlights
  • Nine non-conference games.
  • Four contests at McCann Arena.
  • Two first-time opponents.
 
Friday, Nov. 8 - at VMI
  • Season opener.
  • All-time series: 1-1.
  • First meeting between the teams since Dec. 13, 2014.
 
Tuesday, Nov. 12 – vs. Hartford
  • Home opener.
  • All-time series: Hartford, 4-3.
  • Second straight year the teams have met, but Hartford's first trip to Marist since Dec. 21, 2011, an 89-86 Marist win in double overtime.
 
Saturday, Nov. 16 – at Fordham
  • All-time series: Fordham, 2-0.
  • First meeting between the teams since Dec. 23, 1980.
  • First meeting between the teams since Marist went Division I in the 1981-82 season.
 
Saturday, Nov. 23 – vs. The Citadel
  • All-time series: Marist, 1-0.
  • Last meeting: 100-91 Marist win on Dec. 1, 2017.
  • This is the The Citadel's first trip to Marist.
 
Saturday, Nov. 30 – vs. Army West Point
  • All-time series: Marist, 10-9. The 19 meetings are Marist's most against any team the Red Foxes have never shared a conference with.
  • Last meeting: Nov. 6, 2018 – Head Coach John Dunne's first game leading the Red Foxes.
  • This will be the Army West Point's first trip to Marist since Nov. 18, 2017, and the fourth meeting between the teams in the last three years.
 
Saturday, Dec. 7 – at Navy
  • This is the first meeting between the teams.
 
Wednesday, Dec. 18 – vs. New Hampshire
  • All-time series: Tied, 3-3.
  • Last meeting: Dec. 19, 2018, a 58-49 Marist triumph.
  • This is New Hampshire's first trip to Marist since Feb. 19, 2011, also a 58-49 Marist win.
 
Saturday, Dec. 21 – at Bethune-Cookman
  • This is the first meeting between the teams.
 
Saturday, Dec. 28 – at Columbia
  • All-time series: Marist, 6-1.
  • Last meeting: Nov. 10, 2018 – John Dunne's first win as head coach of the Red Foxes, an 82-76 victory.
  • This is Marist's first trip to Columbia since Nov. 17, 2012.
 
Game times, as well as Marist's 20-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedule, will be released at a later date. Season ticket information for the Red Foxes' 14 home games will be released in the coming weeks. The 2019-20 season marks John Dunne's second as head coach of the Red Foxes.
