POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Volleyball has released its schedule for the 2019 season, the program announced on Monday.
 
Overall, the Red Foxes play 19 opponents across 28 matches, with three non-conference tournaments in the season's first two weeks.
 
"I am excited to get the 2019 season underway," mentioned first-year Head Coach Sean Byron. "Our staff has put together a challenging schedule that features a variety of impressive non-conference opponents, which will help us prepare for MAAC play later in the year. I'm looking forward to seeing how the team develops throughout the season."
 
The first serve arrives on August 30 with a tournament hosted by Buffalo. Marist will square off against Alabama on that Friday, then face Colgate and Buffalo on August 31.
 
In the following week, the Red and White travel to Smithfield, RI to compete in the Hampton Inn-vitational, with Bryant as the hosts. Marist battles Villanova on September 6, then plays against North Dakota and Bryant on September 7.
 
The last non-conference tournament is the SJSU/SCU Tournament. First, Marist takes on Northern Colorado and Santa Clara at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara, CA on September 13. The next day, Marist heads to Spartan Gym in San Jose, CA to battle San Jose State.
 
Marist's first home match of 2019 also serves as its MAAC opener, as the Red Foxes welcome Fairfield to McCann Arena on Friday, September 20 at 7:00 pm. Quinnipiac comes to town on Sunday, September 22 for a 1:00 pm match.
 
Following the opening homestand, the Red Foxes hit the road for three matches. Marist plays Saint Peter's on September 28, and Rider on September 29. Returning to New York, the Red Foxes visit Army for the season's non-conference finale on October 1.
 
Three of the next four matches occur in Poughkeepsie, beginning with a date against Siena on Friday, October 4 at 6:00 pm. After a road contest at Quinnipiac on October 9, Marist hosts Canisius and Niagara on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, respectively. The former match begins at 1:00 pm, while the latter starts at Noon.
 
After two road matches vs. Iona (October 19) and Manhattan (October 20), the Red Foxes play Rider and Saint Peter's in McCann on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, respectively. Both matches are slated for 1:00 pm.
 
To kick off November, Marist has four road affairs in nine days. Siena opens the stretch on November 1, followed by Fairfield (November 6), Niagara (November 9), and Canisius (November 10).
 
The regular season concludes with a pair of home contests. Iona comes to town on Friday, November 15 at 7:00 pm, while Marist hosts Manhattan in the regular season capper on Saturday, November 16 at 6:00 pm.
