Marist Football Picked To Finish Fourth In PFL Preseason Poll

Red Foxes Open League Play Sept. 14

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team was picked to finish in the Pioneer Football League (PFL) Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Tuesday.
 
The 2019 season marks the Red Foxes' 11th in the PFL. In eight of Marist's first 10 seasons in the league, the team has finished better than or equal to its preseason projection. The Red Foxes won a share of the PFL championship in 2013.

Last season, the Red Foxes finished tied for fourth in the PFL with a 5-3 league mark. Marist returns 12 starters this season (eight offensive, four defensive.)
 
On Monday, senior center Dan Wittekind was named Preseason All-PFL.
 
The Red Foxes open the 2019 season at Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 7. Marist will open PFL play with the first of its six home games at Tenney Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14 against Stetson. Season tickets are on sale, and for more information, please click here.
