Women's Soccer Greets Iona In MAAC Opener

Marist Hosts Play With Pride Game On Sunday

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Soccer gears up for the first game of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play in the 2019 season, welcoming Iona to Tenney Stadium on Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m.

PLAY WITH PRIDE GAME
  • The Red Foxes will wear rainbow shoelaces as part of the United Soccer Coaches' Play With Pride initiative, which encourages support and respect for athletes and coaches of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
  • Fans can sign the Inclusion Pledge during the game to express their support for the cause as well.

NON-CONFERENCE REVIEW
  • Marist picked up three wins in non-conference play this year: Towson (CAA), Delaware State (Independent), and Loyola (MD) (Patriot).
  • Sophomore forward Victoria Colatosti led the Red Foxes with four goals and 10 points.

SCOUTING IONA
  • The Gaels head into MAAC play at 2-6-1, most recently defeating first-year program St. Francis Brooklyn 3-2.
  • Iona is 0-3-1 on the road this season.
  • Faith Preziosi (five goals) and Amber Crispin (four goals) account for 75 percent of the Gaels' scoring in 2019.
  • Marist faced Iona in last year's MAAC lidlifter as well, winning 2-1 in New Rochelle, NY.
