Volleyball Travels to Army for Non-Conference Duel

Red Foxes Look to Make it Four Straight Wins on Tuesday Night

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist volleyball team closes out its four-day, three-match road trip on Tuesday, October 1 against Army. The Red Foxes take a brief hiatus from Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play on Tuesday night, and look to extend their winning streak to four.   First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes are coming off an undefeated weekend, beating Saint Peter's on Saturday and Rider on Sunday, both in five sets.
  • In Sunday's victory over Rider, which was the Broncs first MAAC loss of the season, Stephanie Stone joined the top-10 on Marist's all-time total blocks list with her 231st career block.
  • Additionally, tallying her second consecutive match with 21 kills, Megan Fergus moved into sole possession of ninth place on the program's all-time kills list.
  • Setter Halle Carter totaled her second consecutive 50 assist game, following up Saturday's performance where she racked up 65 assists, tying for the third most assists in a single-match in program history.
  • Sophia Theriot set a new career-high in digs for the third straight match, totaling 28 along with a career-high three service aces. .
 
A LOOK AT THE RECORD BOOK
  • Nikki DeSerpa is just three kills away from passing Assistant Coach Kelsey Lahey on the all-time kills list, and moving into sole possession of seventh place.
  • Fergus, now in ninth place, is slowly closing in on the duo, trailing DeSerpa by just 39 kills.
  • Additionally, Fergus is just two total blocks away from reaching eighth place on the all-time total blocks list.
  • Stone trails Fergus by 17 total blocks on the exact same list.
 
SCOUTING ARMY
  • The Black Knights enter Tuesday's contest with an overall record of 9-5, and a 1-1 record in conference play.
  • Army is coming off a 2018 season in which the team finished 14-15 overall, and 9-7 in conference play.
  • Last time out, the Black Knights were defeated in four sets by American University, putting an end to their two-match winning streak.
  • Sydney Morriss and Courtney Horace lead Army's attack with a team-high 135 and 133 kills, respectively.
  • Ana Oglivie leads the defense with 234 digs. Monica Eckford leads the Black Knights with 53 total blocks
