NEW ROCHELLE, New York - Senior guard
Hannah Hand dropped a season-best 15 points, three other Red Foxes scored in double figures, and Marist Women's Basketball used a 28-point lead after three quarters as cushion for a 73-56 victory over Iona on Tuesday afternoon at the Hynes Athletic Center.
The Red and White boost their MAAC record to 9-2 on the season, improving to 16-4 overall. The Gaels fall to 3-6 against conference foes and 4-14 overall.

Grace Vander Weide recorded her fifth double-double with 12 assists and 10 rebounds.
Shyan Mwai paced Iona with 14 points. She was one of three Gaels in double figures.
- Gilmer hit her first three shots for seven of Marist's first nine points in the opening quarter.
- Iona took a brief 10-9 lead, but redshirt junior forward Molly Smith quickly answered with a three with 4:18 left in the first.
- That started a 15-1 run through the next 3:53 for the Red Foxes. Hannah Hand scored eight of them on two triples. Gilmer and Rebekah Hand added buckets as well.
- At the 6:52 mark of the second quarter, junior guard Allie Best knocked down a left-wing three-pointer to push the Marist lead to 30-16.
- Iona cut its deficit to single digits with a quick 5-0 spurt, but the Hand twins teamed up to score the next six points in 1:13.
- The Red Foxes capped the first half on a 6-0 burst. Vander Weide's lead pass from Iona's foul line found Rebekah Hand on the right block, and the latter converted the layup for a 42-26 lead at halftime.
- Rebekah Hand cashed in on a layup to open the third quarter, starting an 11-0 run over 3:44 to push the advantage to 53-26.
- With four minutes to play in the third, Gilmer nailed a high-post jumper for her first basket since 8:34 in the second. That led to a 7-0 Red Fox push capped by a Best three to make it 60-31 a minute after Gilmer's bucket.
- Iona opened the fourth with a three, but Marist went on a 9-0 run. Duffell highlighted the push with an old-fashioned three-point play.
- At the end of the spurt, the Red Foxes had their largest lead of the game at 73-39.

- As a team, Marist shot 52 percent (31-60), and hit nine three-pointers.
- The Red Foxes grabbed a season-high 45 rebounds, their second-consecutive game eclipsing 40 boards.
- Five different Red Foxes had a least five rebounds: Vander Weide's 10 led the team, followed by Best (7), Rebekah Hand (6), Hannah Hand (5), and Smith (5).
- Iona was limited to 29 percent on field goals beyond the arc.

- With her 12 points, Rebekah Hand has now scored 10 or more points in 100 career games out of 116 appearances. She now has 1,801 career points.
- Hannah Hand reached double figures for the first time since December 9, 2017. This was the fourth time in her career she scored 15 or more points.
- Gilmer passed Corielle Yarde for sixth place all-time in career field goals, and now stands at 534.
- Vander Weide's 12 assists are a season-high. The output is tied for the third-most in a single game in program history. She has also recorded a double-double in every combination associated with points, rebounds, and assists in 2019-20.
- Best scored multiple buckets for the first time since she had a season-high 10 points on January 18 against Manhattan.
- Marist now has a four-game winning streak against Iona, with each game in a margin of over 10 points.
- The all-time series now stands at 41-13 in favor of the Red Foxes
