POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Athletics Department has released the 2020 football schedule. The Red Foxes will play a total of 11 games, with five home contests at Tenney Stadium.
 
Marist will play eight games against Pioneer Football League foes, and three games against non-league opponents.
 
Here is a closer look at the schedule:
 

Saturday, Sept. 5 - vs. Georgetown

• Marist has faced Georgetown more than any opponent on the 2020 schedule (23^rd meeting).
• Third straight year Marist has faced Georgetown in its season opener.
• All-time series: Georgetown, 17-5.

 

Saturday, Sept. 12 - at Morehead State

• First PFL game of 2020.
• Teams did not face each other in 2019.
• All-time series: Marist, 4-2

 

Saturday, Sept. 19 - at Cornell

• Marist fell 21-7 last year at home in first meeting between the teams.
• Marist's first trip to Cornell.
• First of two Ivy League matchups in the 2020 season.

 

Saturday, Sept. 26 - vs. Dayton

• First home PFL game of 2020.
• Dayton finished 15th in the FCS in rushing in 2019.
• All-time series: Dayton, 9-2.

 

Saturday, Oct. 3 - at Drake

• Drake finished 6-2 in the PFL for 4th straight year in 2019.
• All time series: Drake, 8-0.

 

Saturday, Oct. 10 - vs. Davidson

• 13th straight year the teams have met.
• Marist has won nine straight games.
• All time series, Marist 11-1.

 

Saturday, Oct. 17 - at Dartmouth

• Marist's first trip to Dartmouth.
• Dartmouth won the 2019 Ivy League Football Championship, and finished the year ranked 22nd in FCS STATS poll.
• All-time series: Dartmouth, 1-0.

Saturday, Oct. 31 - vs. Valparaiso

• Beat Valparaiso 26-14 in final game of 2019.
• Hunter Cobb rushed for two touchdowns in that game.
• All-time series: Marist, 8-1.

 

Saturday, Nov. 7 - at Stetson

• Marist won a thriller at Tenney Stadium, 26-23, in 2019.
• Three of the last four meetings have been decided by seven points or less.
• All-time series: Marist, 5-2.

 

Saturday, Nov. 14 - vs. San Diego

• San Diego finished 11th in the FCS in passing offense in 2019.
• San Diego has represented PFL in the NCAA Tournament the last four years.
• All time series: San Diego, 15-0.

 

Saturday, Nov. 21 - at Butler

• Marist is 2-0 on the road all-time vs. Butler.
• Marist won 37-27 in 2019 at Tenney Stadium.
• All-time series: Marist, 4-1.

The 2019 season will mark Marist's 12^th as a member of the PFL. The Red Foxes won a share of the league championship in 2013.
