Women's Basketball Hosts Manhattan on Play4Kay Night

Red Foxes Look To Secure Third Straight Win

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Women's Basketball looks to clinch it's 10th conference win against Manhattan on Saturday, February 7th at 7 p.m. The game marks the annual Play4Kay contest to benefit Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, with a salute to breast cancer survivors during halftime. The first 1,000 fans will receive a shirt upon entry to McCann Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes routed the Iona Gaels 73-56 on the Gaels' home court, leading by as many as 34 points during the game.
  • Alana Gilmer and Hannah Hand had 16 and 15 points, respectively, to pace the offense. It was Hannah Hand's first game in double figures since December 9, 2017.
  • Rebekah Hand had 12 points; it was her 100th career game with 10 or more points.
  • Gilmer passed Corielle Yarde for sixth place all-time in career field goals, and now stands at 534.
  • Grace Vander Weide had a rebounds-assists double-double with 10 rebounds and 12 assists, the latter of which is tied for the third-most assists in a single game in program history.

  • The Jaspers are 9-12 overall with a 6-6 conference record. They are 2-2 in their last four games.
  • Emily LaPointe is the team's leading scorer with 12.8 points per game. Courtney Warley is the only other player averaging double-digits with 10.2 points per game.
  • LaPointe has earned back to back MAAC Rookie of the Week honors the past two weeks, totaling six on the season.
  • Manhattan is just 3-8 on the road this season.

  • This will be the 58th meeting all-time between Marist and Manhattan.
  • Marist has a 35-22 edge on their MAAC opponent that dates back to 1985.

  • Rebekah Hand needs three assists to enter the top 10 in program history.
  • She would join Corielle Yarde as the only Red Foxes to rank in the top 10 in career points, rebounds and assists.
  • Currently, Rebekah Hand is second all-time with 1,801 points and sixth with 721 boards. Both rank above Yarde.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
  • Marist has just two days of rest before traveling to Rider for another MAAC bout on Tuesday, February 11 at 7 p.m.
