HAMILTON, New York – The Marist women's lacrosse team fell by a score of 14-9 at Colgate in the season opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

Summary

Neither team led by more than one goal for the first 23:27, but Marist then scored four straight times in a span of 1:30 to grab a 7-4 lead. Devon Connolly scored twice in this stretch.
Marist held an 8-7 lead at halftime.
Between the end of the first half and the start of the second half, Colgate scored seven straight goals to take the lead for good. Danielle Van Calcar scored four times in this run, including three straight.
There was no scoring in the final 11 minutes of play.

Connolly and Samantha Mehalick led Marist with three goals apiece.
