John Oxner took wins in both singles and doubles, senior captain
Lars Schouten triumphed in a marathon match, and Marist Men's Tennis earned its first victory of the spring season in a 4-3 decision over Colgate on Saturday evening.
The Red Foxes improve to 2-1 in dual matches in the 2019-20 season. The Raiders suffer their second-straight loss and now sit at 1-2.
- Marist swept the doubles point. Schouten and junior Nestor Giribet Lopez made quick work of Jack Ablon and Jack Selati, 6-1, in the second position.
- Junior Piotr Sowinski and sophomore Jack Sequerth followed up with a 6-3 victory over Rohan Gupta and Nick Potter out the third flight.

- Sophomore Augusto Gonzalez Bonorino put Marist up 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Dean Vlassis at No. 6 singles.

- Peter Hartman equalized the match in No. 3 singles. Giribet Lopez won 6-2 in the first set, but after narrowly losing the second set, 6-7 (5-7), Hartman controlled the tiebreak as the former fell 4-6.
- A top-flight battle that last over three hours, Schouten beat Bickel 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to secure the victory for the Red and White.
- "This was an epic battle. We won the doubles point and preceded to win the first set in all six singles matches. But it all came down to our captain, Lars Schouten, who prevailed in a three hour, three-set victory to give us the win. John Oxner had an outstanding night at both first doubles and fourth singles, and Augusto Bonorino also netted a win at sixth singles. It was truly a team effort that enabled us to get this win on the road." – Director of Tennis Gary Sussman
