POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Five Red Foxes scored in double figures, but Canisius spoiled Marist's Senior Day with an 85-69 decision on Wednesday evening at McCann Arena.
With the loss, Marist will be the 11th seed in the 2020 MAAC Basketball Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Golden Griffins will be the 10th seed in the tournament.

Jordan Jones led the Red Foxes with 19 points on 9-13 shooting. Sophomore forward
Braden Bell drained four three-pointers for 15 points. Redshirt junior guard

Tyler Saint-Furcy both chipped in 11 points, while sophomore guard
Matt Herasme added 10 points.
Majesty Brandon paced all scorers with 23 points. Malik Johnson and Jacco Fritz also reached double figures for Canisius.

- Marist held Canisius to a scoreless drought of 4:32 to start the game, while Herasme scored the first five Red Fox points.
- Bell knocked down a pair of three-pointers out of the under-16 media timeout in the first half, giving Marist an 11-9 edge.
- Jones then rattled off Marist's next eight points to make it 19-15 Foxes with 11:35 left in the first half.
- A 7-0 Canisius spurt at the midpoint gave Canisius a 26-21 advantage at the under-eight break.
- With 2:32 to play in the opening frame, Saint-Furcy streaked through the left lane to throw down a left-handed dunk, drawing a foul and hitting the free throw on top of it.
- In the second half, after Canisius took its largest lead of the game at 17 points, Marist went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 49-40. Cubbage and Bell each drained triples on the burst.
- Just 5:53 into the second stanza, Jones utilized the lefty hook shot to draw contact, hit the bucket, and convert the free throw, making it 51-43 Canisius.
- The Red Foxes got as close to 51-45, but Canisius raced out to a 14-2 run over a five-minute span to pad their lead.
- Five of Marist's final eight field goals came beyond the arc, but Canisius kept the Red Foxes at bay, leading by 82-59 with three minutes remaining.

- As a team, Marist shot 47.3 percent, including 47.6 percent from three-point range (10-21). It was the fourth time in the last seven games the Red and White has hit 10 or more triples.
- Jones' career-best also came on a career-best nine field goals.
- This was the third time this season Bell has hit four three-pointers.
- Herasme and Cubbage tied for the team lead with six rebounds, while the latter had three assists.
- For the fifth time in 2019-20, Marist totaled at least 10 steals.
- Before the game, Marist honored senior center Tobias Sjoberg, as well as managers Sean McGee and Eddie Whitman.
- This was the third game of the year where Marist had five players score 10 or more points.
- Canisius has won six of the last seven matchups in the rivalry.
