Peaches Brown Takes Part In Women Leaders Institute

Four-Day Program Provided Great Development Opportunities

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Enhancement Peaches Brown recently took part in the Women Leaders Institute for Administrative Advancement.
 
Brown was one of 81 administrators who was selected to participate. The Institute for Administrative Advancement (IAA) traditionally consists of approximately 40 administrators apiece in East and West regional seminars. With this year's virtual format, all 81 were brought together for four days and 25 hours of programming.
 
"Overall, it was great," Brown said. "I felt like this was one of the best professional development experiences I've had in my career. It was really dissecting every part of preparing for that next level."
 
Here is a sampling of daily topics covered:
 
  • Day One: Pursue Your Potential, Building Powerful Relationships, Leading Up: Communicating With Purpose
  • Day Two: Managing Up In Crucial Times, Your Personal Brand, Effective Managing People, Navigating Your Transition
  • Day Three: Interviewing/Own Your On-Boarding, Elevating Your Department Through Sport Supervision, Stewardship During Challenging Times, Identifying Top Level Teammates
  • Day Four: Synergy Between Work & Life Balance, Goal & Vision Setting, Moving Forward As A Woman Leader
 
IAA attendees covered all divisions of college athletics with a wide range of job focuses.
 
Brown completed her second year in the Marist Athletics Department in the 2019-20 school year. Her sport responsibilities include women's basketball and men's basketball. The programs combined for 14 selections to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team this season.
