POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – For the 19^th straight year, Marist has topped the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in selections to the conference's Academic Honor Roll. A school-record 300 Red Foxes were honored for the 2019-20 academic year.
 
Marist's Honor Roll representatives:
 

• Comprise 71 percent of eligible student-athletes.
• Come from 27 states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin).
• Come from 15 countries (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, England, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Spain, United States).

 


Marist's previous school record of 273 student-athletes was set in the 2017-18 school year.
 
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale while being enrolled at the institution for at least two semesters.
 
The honorees cover 21 of Marist's 23 Division I programs, with the exception of football and men's rowing. This past year, a total of 55 football student-athletes were named the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, nine Marist Esports athletes were named to the conference's All-Academic Team this season.
 
A conference-record 2,722 student-athletes were named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll. The number has increased for 14 consecutive years. Here is the breakdown by school:
