The Marist volleyball team travels to Albany for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship this weekend. The Red Foxes will square off against #6 Quinnipiac on Friday night at 8 p.m. After beating the Bobcats in both regular season matchups this season, Marist looks to continue that success into the postseason.

Regular Season

• Marist is 17-12 overall and 12-6 in MAAC play. The Red Foxes have their highest win total in six years.
• Marist swept the regular season series against Quinnipiac. The first matchup resulted in a 3-1 sweep on September 29th, and then again on November 6th where the Red Foxes took down the Bobcats in five sets.
• The Red Foxes defeated the Bobcats 3-1 in Poughkeepsie on Sept. 29 behind double-doubles from Madelyn Waumans (21 kills, 13 digs) and Jordan Newblatt (18 kills, 10 digs).
• McKinley Fox gave one of her best games of the season in the first game against Quinnipiac, dishing out 45 assists and grabbing eight digs to help secure a win for the Red Foxes. 

 

Scouting Quinnipiac

• The Bobcats finished at 10-17 overall and 9-9 in conference this regular season.
• Quinnipiac closed out the regular season with a 3-2 loss to the number seven seed in the MAAC, Iona.
• Aryanah Diaz and Maggie Baker lead in attacks for the Bobcats, having totaled 267 and 229 kills, respectively, so far this season.
• Nicole Legg has been a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the court for Quinapiac's defense, smacking 89 blocks on the season.

 

Playoff Bracket

• The winner of #3 Marist and #6 Quinnipiac will move on to face the Semifinals on Saturday at 7 p.m. The opponent will either be #2 Rider or #7 Iona.
• The winner of both matches on Saturday will advance to the championship round, which is scheduled to be played Sunday at 4 p.m.

• The MAAC awards & All-Academic Teams will be announced Thursday morning.
• CoSIDA Academic All-District announcements will be made Thursday afternoon.
