PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – The Marist men's soccer team had its season come to an end with a 2-0 loss at Providence in an NCAA first-round match on Thursday night.
 

Summary

• Marist keeper Samuel Ilin had three saves by the midway point of the first half, and one of Providence's best scoring chances was a shot that went high from Brendan McSorley in the 24^th minute.
• The Red Foxes' first shot came from Kyle Galloway in the 28^th minute from just outside the 18, and it went just wide to the left.
• Providence scored first in the 40^th minute, as Christopher Roman headed in a cross from Armaan Wilson, with Gil Santos earning the second assist.
• The Friars took a 1-0 lead into halftime, and held a 10-2 edge in shots at that juncture.
• Antek Sienkiel registered Marist's first shot on goal in the 58^th minute.
• Wilson gave Providence a 2-0 lead in the 67^th minute on a shot from about 25 yards away that found the top right corner of the net. It was set up by Gevork Diarbian.

• This was the first time Marist faced Providence in program history.
