POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist volleyball sophomore outside hitter
Jordan Newblatt was named to the 2021 All-MAAC First Team, the conference announced Thursday morning.
In addition, Second Team awards went to sophomore
Gabriella Heimbauer and senior
McKinley Fox. The Red Foxes added freshman
Jillian Hanna to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.
For Newblatt, this is the first time she has earned a postseason All-MAAC award. This adds to her decorated resume after being named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week in October. This came after she set the program record for kills in back-to-back matches a few days earlier. Newblatt was also named MAAC Player of the Week twice this year and is ranked third in kills per set and points per set in the conference.
Heimbauer is not too far behind, ranked fourth in kills per set and fifth in points per set in the MAAC. Senior setter
McKinley Fox is currently ranked third in assists per set this season. This is both Red Foxes' first appearance on an All-MAAC team.
Hanna earned Rookie of the Week in September of this season. She saw action as a defensive specialist, and is tied for the team high with 29 aces this season.
