ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Top-ranked Marist Women's Basketball seeks its 15th MAAC Championship appearance when it takes on fourth-seeded Fairfield in the MAAC Semifinals on Friday, March 12th at 11 a.m.

• The Red Foxes improved to 19-0 in their first games in a MAAC Tournament under Head Coach Brian Giorgis with a 63-55 triumph over No. 9 Siena in the MAAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 10th.
• Sarah Barcello scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the final 5:55 of the second quarter to erase Marist's early deficit. She also had six steals and five rebounds.
• In the second half, Willow Duffell recorded 10 points and eight rebounds, including Marist's final five points, to fend off the Saints.
• Marist held the MAAC's leading scorer, Isis Young, to 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting.

• The Red Foxes have reached the MAAC Semifinals in 16 of Brian Giorgis' 18-plus seasons at the helm. This includes the 2020 semifinals that were not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Marist has a 14-1 record all-time in the semifinals. The only loss came to Iona in 2016.

• No. 4 seed Fairfield reaches the semifinals after defeating fifth-seed and MAAC preseason favorite Manhattan 51-40. Unanimous All-MAAC First Team selection dropped 21 points to lead all scorers in the victory.
• Sam Lewis made a trio of three-pointers for 11 points, while All-MAAC Second Team pick Katie Armstrong snagged 11 rebounds.
• In the regular season, the Stags went 10-4, with a 9-3 conference mark.

series history

• Friday marks the 60th all-time meeting between the Red Foxes and the Stags. Marist is 38-21 all-time against Fairfield.
• Marist has won six of their last eight in the rivalry, with the average margin of victory being 20.2 points.
• The two sides split the regular season series at Alumni Hall in Connecticut.
• In the first contest, the Red Foxes limited the Stags to a season-low in points for a 56-38 victory. Caitlin Weimar and Allie Best had 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Duffell flirted with a triple-double with eight points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
• Lopez-Senechal then nailed a floater with less than three seconds remaining as Fairfield erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to capture a 61-60 decision over Marist in the series finale. Trinasia Kennedy dropped a career-high 26 points with five three-pointers.
• The Red Foxes are 4-1 over Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament. Marist won its 2010 and 2012 championships over the Stags in the final.
• Both teams have faced one another twice in the semifinals, back in 2005 and 2015. Fairfield's only tournament triumph over the Red Foxes came in the 2017 quarterfinals.
