POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Junior catcher
Kaley Coltrain of the Marist softball team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
In Marist's eight games this past week, Coltrain hit .652 (15-for-23) with four home runs and 12 runs batted in. She had a slugging percentage of 1.261 and on-base percentage of .704. She had six multi-hit games, including five straight to start the week, and five multi-RBI games.
Some of her highlights from this past week:
- Siena, April 28: Went 5-for-6 in the doubleheader, drove in the game's only two runs in Marist's 2-0 win in game one. Hit game-tying homer in the bottom of the eighth of game two.
- Saint Peter's, April 30: Went 4-for-7 with four RBIs in the doubleheader, including a double and homer in game one.
- Iona, May 1: Went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in game one.
- Iona, May 2: Reached base safely in all seven plate appearances (4-for-4 with five RBIs – two homers, one double, one single, two walks, one hit by pitch).
Coltrain leads the MAAC in batting average (.481), on-base percentage (.548), and slugging percentage (.907). She has team-leading totals of six home runs and 22 RBIs.
This is the first MAAC weekly honor for a Red Fox this season, and fourth of Coltrain's career. She was named MAAC Player of the Week once and Rookie of the Week twice in 2019.
Marist returns to action on Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Saint Peter's. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. Prior to the game, the Red Foxes will honor
