POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team was picked to finish tied for ninth in the Pioneer Football League Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon.
Below are the full results of the poll. First-place votes are in parentheses, and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Here are some more facts regarding this year's poll:
- The two teams Marist will not face this year in PFL play are the teams picked first and second – Davidson and San Diego.
- Marist's PFL home games are against the teams picked third (Drake), seventh (Morehead State), tied for ninth (Stetson), and 11th (Butler).
- Marist's PFL road games are against the teams picked fourth (Dayton), fifth (Presbyterian), sixth (Valparaiso), and eighth (St. Thomas).
- In Marist's 11 previous seasons of PFL play, the Red Foxes have exceeded their preseason projection seven times, equaled it once, and came in below it three times.
Marist opens the 2021 season at Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 4. The Red Foxes pay the first of their eight PFL games on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Valparaiso. The Red Foxes won a share of the PFL championship in 2013.
