last time out
  • The Red Foxes dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to local rival Army West Point on August 26th.
  • Senior goalkeeper Natalie Kelchner corralled five saves.
  • Senior forward Victoria Colatosti appeared off the bench to lead the team with four shots, two of which were on goal.

home sweet home
  • Thursday will mark 669 days since Marist's last home game at Tenney Stadium, which was the 2019 MAAC Quarterfinals against Quinnipiac. The Red Foxes were on the road for their lone game of the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 campaign.
  • Colatosti scored twice in that game; in the last regular season contest in Poughkeepsie on October 26th, senior midfielder Abby Murphy registered a brace, including a game-winning goal in double overtime.
  • In the last five seasons, Marist is 25-12-3 at Tenney Stadium.
  • The Red Foxes have recorded a better than .500 record at home each year in that span.
  • Marist also has won five straight home openers dating back to 2015.

opportunity knocks
  • Though the Red Foxes are seeking their first goal of 2021, it is not without their chances; Marist has outshot their opponent each game.
  • On the season, the team sports a 31-23 advantage in that category.
  • Four Red Foxes are tied for the team lead in shots: Colatosti, Amanda Caldarelli, Brooke Cergol, and Bridget Dudziec.

with a win...
  • Marist would snag its sixth consecutive home-opening win.
  • The Red Foxes would beat Fordham for the first time since 2012.
  • Marist would earn its first win over an A-10 opponent since 2018, when the Red Foxes beat Rhode Island 2-1 in Marist's home opener.

scouting the rams
  • Fordham is 1-3 on the season, most recently dropping a 3-2 contest to FDU on August 29th.
  • The Rams' lone win came against MAAC-rival Manhattan on August 26th, a 2-1 triumph in overtime.
  • Junior forward Caitlin Kennedy was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week, scoring two goals in Fordham's two games last week.
  • Senior goalkeeper Maggie Grossman has seen the lion's share of minutes in goal, allowing four goals while making nine saves in three games.

series history
  • Thursday marks the fifth all-time meeting between Marist and Fordham, and the second in Poughkeepsie. The Rams hold a 3-1 lead in the rivalry.
  • The last meeting took place on September 14th, 2018 at Jack Coffey Field in the Bronx. Fordham won 2-0.
  • Marist's win in the series cam on September 2nd, 2012, exactly nine years to the day of the impending matchup. Marjana Maksuti notched her first-career goal to back up Caitlin Landsman's shutout for a 1-0 victory.
  • The first and only duel in the Hudson Valley occurred in 2003.

looking ahead
  • After the game, Marist will be idle for 10 days before the program's final non-conference game of the season, visiting Maine on Sunday, September 12th at 1 p.m.
