FAIRFAX, Virginia - The Marist volleyball team is on their way to Fairfax, VA for the George Mason Invitational this weekend.  The Red Foxes will open up the tournament against Morgan State on Saturday at 1 p.m. and then take on Robert Morris just a few hours later at 4 p.m. Marist will close out the tournament against UNCG on Sunday at 11 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Red Foxes lost to Big east foe Seton Hall in five sets after trailing 0-2. 
• Jordan Newblatt and Gabby Murray led Marist with a season-high 13 kills each. Newblatt added 18 digs for a double-double. 
• Perri Lucas led Seton Hall with 12 kills
• McKinley Fox led the game in assists with 41. She added 12 digs for a double-double. 
• Morgan Owens had a team-high 26 digs. 
• Murray had three service aces to lead Marist. 
• Taylor Jakubowski and Calga Bengi totaled 17 assists each for Seton Hall
• Seton Hall outhit the Red Foxes .245-.165.

 

SCOUTING THE FIELD

• Morgan State is winless so far in 2021, at 0-8. They most recently lost four games at the Towson Invitational. 
• Robert Morris is 4-2 so far this season, and is coming off a win against Duquesne in their last game. 
• UNCG is 6-1 in 2021 with only one loss coming to Eastern Kentucky.
