POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist baseball schedule has been announced for the 2022 season, beginning in February. The Red Foxes are coming off an 18-11 overall record and 17-9 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic conference play in the 2021 season.
Marist kicks off the season playing its first 13 games on the road, beginning on Friday, Feb. 18 in Norfolk, Va. The Red Foxes will face the Spartans of Norfolk State in a three-game series over the course of three days. The Spartans are defending MEAC champions for the 2021 season. The following weekend (Feb.25-Feb.27), Marist will have a three-game series against Notre Dame and Wofford in Greenville, South Carolina.
Continuing their travels, Marist will play at Abilene Christian (March 4-March 6), then at Navy (March 11-March 13) for two three-game series. The Red Foxes first games back in the northeast will see the team traveling to take on Fordham. The series will begin in the Bronx on Friday, March 18, followed by the Red Foxes' first home date at McCann Baseball Field on Saturday, March 19 before then returning to Fordham the following day for one last single-game on Sunday, March 20
. The following weekend (March 25-27), the Red Foxes open up their 22-game MAAC schedule with a three-game home series at Fairfield.
Marist's conference series will continue away at Siena (April 1-3), then home against Quinnipiac (April 8-10), and back on the road at Canisius (April 15-17). The Red Foxes will face Monmouth (April 22-24), Army (April 26th), and Iona (April 29-May 1).
The next conference matchup will be against the 2021 MAAC Champions Rider Broncs for a three-game series on (May 6-8). Concluding the Red Foxes' regular season will be home against St. Peters in a three-game series (May 13-15).
In between the weekend series', the Red Foxes have weekday battles with non-conference opponents Bucknell (March 9), Hartford (March 23rd and April 19), Merrimack (March 29), UConn (April 12), Columbia (April 20), Army (April 26), and St. Johns (May 3).
The MAAC Championships are slated to begin on Wednesday, May 25 and run through Saturday the 28th.
