Red Foxes to Play 100th PFL Game in Their History

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team (2-3 overall, 2-1 Pioneer Football League) hosts Dayton (3-2, 1-1) in a Pioneer Football League on Saturday at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon.

Last Time Out
  • With three touchdowns in 3:37 late in the fourth quarter, Marist came back to defeat Stetson 45-31.
  • The three touchdowns came in all three phases: a 32-yard touchdown run by Amin Woods, an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown by Clayborne Fields III, and a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown by Fields. Fields' two touchdowns came 89 seconds apart.
  • It marked the first time in a PFL game that Marist scored touchdowns offensively, defensively, and on special teams in the same game.
  • Fields was named PFL Co-Defensive Player of the Week and earned a helmet sticker from ESPN College Football Final.
 
Season Notes
  • Marist is 2-0 on the road this season and 0-3 at Tenney Stadium.
  • Marist has forced eight turnovers in its last two games.
  • Marist 15-for-32 (46.9 percent) on third down conversions in its two wins, and 9-for-37 (24.3 perent) in its two losses.

  • At Stetson, Marist scored four touchdowns covering at least 60 yards. The last the Red Foxes accomplished that feat was in a 44-7 win at Valparaiso on Oct. 27, 2012, when they scored four touchdowns that covered at least 78 yards.
 
PFL History
  • This is Marist's 100th PFL game. Marist is 52-47 all-time in PFL play, having joined the league in 2009. Marist is 7-11 in September, 29-18 in October, 16-17 in November, and 0-1 in December. Marist is 25-25 at home, and 27-22 on the road.
  • Marist won a share of the PFL championship in 2013.
 
History vs. Dayton
  • Marist is 3-9 all-time against Dayton, but has won two of the last three.
  • Marist won the last meeting at Tenney Stadium, 28-17 on Sept. 29, 2018.
 
About Dayton
  • Picked fourth in the PFL Preseason Poll, Dayton is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the PFL.
  • The Flyers fell 31-0 at Butler last week, which snapped a streak of 501 straight games Dayton had scored in.
