Coach Parady Earns 150th Win

Red Foxes Defeat Presbyterian on Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in Set the Expectation Game

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team earned a 37-7 win over Presbyterian in a Pioneer Football League game at Tenney Stadium on Saturday.
 
The was win the 150th in the career of head coach Jim Parady, and came on Homecoming & Reunion Weekend at Marist and the program's fourth annual Set The Expectation game.

 
 
Keys to the Game
  • The Red Foxes utilized a balanced effort in all three phases of the game, and kept the Blue Hose out of the end zone for the game's first 57 minutes.
  • Marist scored on six consecutive drives between the second and fourth quarters.
 
Highlights
  • An interception by Clayborne Fields III on the game's opening drive set Marist up at the Presbyterian 37. Glenmour Leonard-Osbourne capped an eight-play drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown.
  • A four-yard rushing touchdown by Amin Woods staked Marist to a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter. The drive included a 48-yard completion from Brock Bagozzi to Matt Stianche.
  • Luke Paladino added two field goals later in the second quarter, from 32 and 48 yards out. These enabled Marist to take a 20-0 halftime lead.
  • Woods' second touchdown of the game, this one coming from two yards out, put Marist up 27-0 midway through the third quarter. The drive included a 32-yard completion from Bagozzi to Brett Landis.
  • Paladino added a 22-yard field goal late in the third quarter. The drive was set up by a Mike Arrington strip sack, with Tyler Ruscher recovering the fumble. Devin Thompson's one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter closed out the Red Foxes' scoring.
  • Presbyterian's lone score came on a one-yard touchdown pass from Nate Hayden to Jalen Jones with 2:16 remaining.

  • Marist held a 337-162 edge in total yards.
  • Marist was 8-for-16 on third down conversions, and held Presbyterian to 4-for-15 on third down.
  • Arrington finished with 12 tackles, three tackles for loss, a strip sack, and a pass break-up.
  • Landis led the Red Foxes with 66 yards receiving on four receptions.
 
Notes
  • The 162 total yards allowed by Marist were its fewest since allowing 144 to Davidson on Nov. 15, 2014.
  • Paladino's 48-yard field goal is tied for the third longest in program history. He now has six field goals in his career of at least 45 yards.
  • This is the lowest point total Marist held an opponent to this season.
  • The 30-point margin of victory was the Red Foxes' largest since a 31-point win against Stetson on Oct. 9, 2021.
  • Thompson's fourth quarter touchdown was the first of his career.
  • Marist is now 2-0 against Presbyterian all-time.
  • Brenda Tracy, the founder of Set The Expectation, served as honorary captain and was presented a jersey during the game.
