POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's soccer team clinched its spot in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday evening. The Red Foxes defeated Niagara to help secure their spot. Marist will travel to western New York for the opening round of the MAAC Championships on Sunday, Oct. 30 at noon.Â

- Niagara currently stands at third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings behind Quinnipiac and Fairfield.Â
- The Purple Eagles are currently 9-7-1 overall and 6-3-1 in conference play.Â
- The offense of the Purple Eagles is led by graduate student Annie Ibey, who has six goals and five assists.Â
- Time in net has been split between Felicia Grufman and Agnes Stenlund, who combined to have a total of 62 saves for the season.
- Last Wednesday, the Red Foxes faced the Purple Eagles at home for their final MAAC regular season game, clinching their spot in the championships off of a 1-0 win thanks to a 24th minute goal from Bridget Dudziec.
- The Red Foxes are 3-2 in their last five games against Niagara.

- The Red Foxes will kick off the MAAC Championships with their opening round game against Niagara, followed by #4 Rider against #5 Canisius.
- If Marist defeats Niagara, then #1 Quinnipiac will await the Red Foxes in the semifinals on Thursday.
