Women’s Swimming & Diving Prevails Against Colgate

Women’s Team Wins Third Straight Meet Behind Sweeney

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's swimming and diving team defeated Colgate 157-143, this Friday at McCann Natatorium.
 
Highlights
  • Graduate student Madison Sweeney took home wins in three-meter dive (236.25) and the one-meter dive (213.68).
  • Nellie Thompson won races in the 50-yard freestyle (24.67) and the 100-yard butterfly (58.48).
  • Maddie Healey took first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:47.54).
  • Freshman Genevieve O'Neil won two races in the meet, the 100-yard backstroke (59.30), the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.75).
  • Marist finished first in two relays including the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.18) and the 200-yard medley (1:50.12).
 
RECORDS
  •  Marist extends its streak to three wins, obtaining a 3-2 record.
  • Colgate drops to an even 2-2 record with the loss.
 
UP NEXT
  • Marist heads to Fairfax, Virginia to take on George Mason University.
  • The Patriot Invitational starts Thursday, Nov. 17 and ends Saturday, Nov. 19.
